Often referred to as “The Art of 8 Limbs” for its use of a combination of hands, feet, shins, and elbows, along with clinching techniques, Muay Thai is a style that uses all the tools that are available for techniques, Muay Thai is a style that uses all the tools that are available for the person who wants to learn stand-up. Muay Thai kickboxing is a fantastic martial art for fitness, self-defense, or just for fun. Cardio Kickboxing: Learn basic techniques of kickboxing while getting a well-rounded workout! The classes consists of stretching, footwork, shadowboxing, focus mitt and heavy bag work. You will definitely burn some calories in this program. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Often referred to as “The gentle art” Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most effective martial arts systems in the world. BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, not brute strength, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying submission holds and choke holds to defeat the attacker. Developed by the famous “Gracie Family” this self-defense style has been proven effective over countless “style vs style” matches and most notably the UFC. Here at ETCA we not only have a fantastic adult BJJ program, but our Junior Warriors class is truly "ELITE" as can be seen by the multiple BJJ tournament championships they have earned. No- Gi Jiu-Jitsu: While traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is practiced with a Gi , No Gi Jiu-Jitsu requires no special uniform. This form of self defense training is very effective on the street and is also very popular for competing in today's grappling tournaments. Using many of the same principles of BJJ, you will learn techniques that will enable you to rely on leverage and not brute strength to overcome your opponent. This program is also a fantastic way to reach your fitness goals!
